1. The service and who may use it

Dog Age Calculator is a free educational website for comparing a dog’s calendar age with a simplified human-age equivalent. It is not a veterinary practice, diagnostic service, biological-age test or emergency service. The current service has no account registration, checkout, paid subscription or in-app purchases.

You must be able to use the site lawfully. If you are below the legal age of majority where you live, use it with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision. The website is not directed to children under 13, and children should not send personal information through email feedback.

2. Understanding and using estimates

Results depend on the inputs and the model described on the method page. The current model uses the AKC published chart for four adult-size categories, with linear interpolation between adjacent birthdays for ages 1–16. Breed suggestions select a size; they do not provide individually validated breed-specific equations.

Human-equivalent ages and interpolated month values are approximations. They do not establish health status, remaining lifespan, maturity for a particular activity, or the timing of medical care. A result should not be used to delay veterinary care or to make diagnosis, medication, nutrition or treatment decisions.

You are responsible for selecting appropriate inputs and reviewing the stated limitations. Do not treat a rounded decimal as evidence of individual biological precision. Other calculators can reasonably produce different answers because they use different assumptions.

3. Sharing, printing and downloads

You may use the result-copying, link-sharing, printing and CSV-download features provided by the site. Shared URLs reveal their parameters to recipients and may enter logs or browser history when opened. Birthday-based results are recalculated for the date they are opened, and model updates can change future results. Save the calculation date and method version if you need a reference.

Review content before sharing it. You control where you send results, and the site cannot retract a link, printed copy or downloaded file distributed by you. More information is in the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

Use the site in a way that respects other users and the service. You must not:

• Attempt unauthorized access to systems, bypass security controls, distribute malicious code or interfere with normal operation.
• Send spam, abusive messages, unlawful material or personal information you do not have the right to disclose.
• Impersonate the operator, falsely imply veterinary endorsement, or present our estimates as an official diagnosis or certified measurement.
• Use automated requests at a volume that materially disrupts the service or evade reasonable rate limits.

Ordinary links, source citations and responsible search-engine indexing are welcome. These restrictions are not intended to prohibit uses protected by law.

5. Content and intellectual property

We retain rights we hold in the site’s original text, visual design, branding and software. Third-party materials and marks remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these terms claims ownership of public facts, general mathematical ideas or third-party research.

You may use the tools, save or print results, and share links for lawful purposes. You may also quote limited excerpts with appropriate attribution where permitted by law. Republishing substantial original site content, copying the site’s branding to imply affiliation, or redistributing our materials as your own product requires permission unless an applicable legal exception or license allows it. 6. Feedback and communications

We welcome bug reports and improvement ideas at websiteaftersales@gmail.com. Send only information you have the right to share. Email is not a confidential advisory channel, and we cannot promise a response time or implementation of a suggestion.

You keep any rights you have in your original feedback. By voluntarily sending a suggestion, you permit us to consider and use it to maintain or improve the service without an obligation to compensate you. This does not grant permission to publish your name or private correspondence as an endorsement; information in messages is handled under the Privacy Policy.

7. External websites and references

Source links are provided for context. We do not operate those websites or control their accuracy, availability, security or policies. A link to a research institution does not imply that institution sponsors, approves or has reviewed this tool. You decide whether to follow external links.

The current site contains no paid advertising or affiliate links. If commercial relationships are introduced, relevant disclosures will be added where appropriate and privacy information updated for affected practices.

8. Changes and availability

We may correct errors, revise explanations or formulas, add or remove features, or temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security or operational reasons. The service may be unavailable, interrupted or incompatible with a particular browser. We do not guarantee that a feature or URL will remain available indefinitely.

Where practical, substantive method changes will be described in the method notes. These terms do not promise ongoing support, data storage or a historical archive of your results.

9. Disclaimers of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service and content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises of uninterrupted operation, error-free calculations, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy for an individual animal. We make reasonable efforts to explain the model, but a transparent formula is still an approximation.

Nothing excludes a warranty or obligation that cannot legally be excluded. The separate Disclaimer provides additional context about educational use and veterinary limitations.

10. Limits of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses resulting from use of or inability to use the site, reliance on an estimate, or third-party services. Do not rely on this website for decisions requiring a qualified professional’s judgment.

These terms do not exclude or restrict responsibility for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If a limitation is not permitted in your jurisdiction, it applies only to the extent the law allows. No provision is intended to take away mandatory consumer remedies.

11. Questions, disputes and applicable rights

If a problem arises, contact us with enough information to understand it. We encourage a good-faith attempt to resolve concerns, but contacting us first is not a condition that prevents you from using a legal remedy or contacting a regulator.

Applicable law determines your rights and the proper forum for a dispute. These terms do not impose a particular U.S. state’s law, mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver or a waiver of access to courts. Any mandatory protections that apply to you remain in effect.

12. Updates and interpretation

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or applicable requirements. The revised text and update date will be posted here; additional notice will be provided when required. Revisions do not retroactively remove rights that have already accrued.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a term on one occasion does not necessarily waive the right to enforce it later. For questions about these terms, use the contact details below.
