Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and browser storage mean

Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask a browser to store and return on later requests. They can support functions such as sign-in, preferences or tracking. Local storage and session storage are different browser mechanisms that can save information for a site. A browser cache, browsing history and clipboard are separate again; not all device storage is a cookie.

2. What the calculator currently uses

• Cookies: the current site code does not set first-party cookies or install third-party marketing cookies.
• Local and session storage: the calculator does not use these mechanisms to save your entries or maintain a calculation history.
• Page memory: inputs and results are held in the current page while you use it. Browser behavior, such as restoring a tab or form, can affect what you see after returning.
• Clipboard: Copy result and Share result write the selected text only when you activate those controls. The site does not read your clipboard.
• Local files: downloads and print-to-file output are controlled by your browser or device.

3. Shared URLs are different from cookies

A shared link stores selected values in the URL itself, including a birthday if you used date mode. Opening it sends those parameters as part of the page request. A link can remain in bookmarks, browser history, server logs or messages even when the site sets no cookies.

Reset removes parameters from the current address and restores the default form. It does not delete previous copies of a shared URL, provider logs or messages. Review the shared-link explanation before distributing a result.

4. Hosting, email and external sites

Vercel hosts and delivers this website. Its infrastructure may process requests and maintain operational logs. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice. Those records are not the same thing as a cookie or advertising profile. Using Vercel for hosting does not mean this site has enabled Vercel Web Analytics or Speed Insights; neither tracking script is included in the current site code.

Following an external source link or using your email service brings you under that service’s policies. This site does not embed a Gmail inbox or load Google Analytics merely because its feedback address is a Gmail address. Gmail and any other email service you use may use their own cookies in their own interfaces.

5. Browser controls and tracking preferences

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies and manage stored site data. The current calculator does not depend on a sign-in cookie, but blocking JavaScript prevents interactive calculations. Static explanations and reference information remain available.

We do not currently use cross-site tracking or targeted advertising. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change the current local calculation process. You can separately clear browsing history and clipboard contents or avoid sharing URLs. Deleting cookies alone does not erase emails or copies of shared links.

6. Changes to storage or advertising

If analytics, advertising, embedded services or optional storage are introduced, we will revise this policy to describe the actual technology, purpose and relevant choices. Where required, optional technologies will need an appropriate consent mechanism before activation. This policy is not advance consent to future tracking.

The update date identifies the version of these disclosures. Contact us if you notice behavior that appears inconsistent with this policy.
