This policy explains information handling on dogagecalculator.me and its calculator, guides and contact pages. “Dog Age Calculator,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of this website using that publishing name.
The short version: you can calculate without an account. Ordinary calculator inputs are processed in your browser. Shared URLs, website delivery and email feedback involve additional information handling, explained below.
1. Scope and contact
This policy covers the website we operate. It does not cover your browser, email provider, devices, or external websites whose links you choose to follow. For privacy questions, write to websiteaftersales@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. The Terms of Use describe the conditions for using the service.
2. Information involved when you use the site
Calculator inputs
The calculator uses a dog’s age, optional date of birth, adult-size category, optional breed, conversion direction and, in reverse mode, a human-equivalent age. Ordinary form changes are calculated locally by the page’s JavaScript; the current calculator does not submit them to a calculation API or create an account record. Enter a dog’s birthday, not your own.
Connection and hosting information
Loading any page requires communication with the hosting infrastructure. This exposes information such as an IP address, requested URL, request time, browser or device headers, and potentially a referring page. Hosting, delivery and security providers may process or log that information to deliver pages, diagnose errors and protect the service. Local calculation does not mean that visiting the website is anonymous.
Information you send by email
If you contact us, we receive your email address, any sender name your email service provides, your message, attachments you choose to include and ordinary email metadata. We use Gmail for the published contact mailbox. We do not ask for passwords, payment details, government identification, your home address or sensitive medical information.
4. Why information is used
We use information needed to provide and protect the website, answer messages, investigate reported errors, consider improvements, keep necessary correspondence and respond to applicable legal obligations. A feedback email is not a subscription to a mailing list.
Where a privacy law requires a lawful basis, the basis depends on the activity: legitimate interests may support website security and responding to voluntary inquiries, legal obligations may require preservation or disclosure, and consent may be used where legally required. If an activity relies on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing without affecting earlier lawful processing. This statement does not assume every jurisdiction’s privacy law applies to every visitor.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We use Vercel to host and deliver this website. Vercel processes connection and request information to deliver pages and support infrastructure security and diagnostics. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice for information about its practices. Google’s Gmail service processes email sent to our mailbox under its applicable terms and privacy information. Other email services you use also handle your outgoing messages. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its practices.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the current service. We do not publish private feedback as a testimonial with your identifying details without permission. We may disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid legal process, or as reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents or threats to rights and safety.
Linked veterinary and research websites are independent services. Visiting them is subject to their own policies; a source citation does not mean those organizations receive your calculator form entries from us.
7. Retention and security
The calculator does not create a server-side calculation history for ordinary form edits. Information embedded in a shared URL can persist separately in hosting logs or copies of the link. Reset clears the current form and removes query parameters from the current address; it cannot erase copies held elsewhere.
We retain email correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, follow up on an issue, maintain necessary records or meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the purpose, sensitivity, unresolved issues and applicable requirements; this policy does not promise a fixed deletion period. Provider logs and backups may follow their own retention processes. You may ask us to delete correspondence we control, subject to lawful exceptions.
No internet transmission, mailbox or storage method is completely secure. Avoid sending confidential information in a shared link or feedback message. We do not promise absolute confidentiality or security.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
You can leave optional breed information blank, use an approximate age rather than a date of birth, avoid shared links, clear browser history or clipboard contents using device controls, or choose not to send feedback. These choices do not require an account.
Depending on your location and the law applicable to this service, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, a copy of personal information, restriction of processing, or to object to certain processing. Some laws also provide a right to appeal a refusal or complain to a competent regulator. We do not claim that every listed right applies in every circumstance.
Send requests to the contact email above, describe what you want, and identify the correspondence or information involved. We may request proportionate verification to prevent disclosure to the wrong person; do not send an identity document unless a justified, secure process is agreed. We will explain applicable limitations and respond within any legally required period. An authorized representative may contact us where the law permits. Requesting privacy assistance will not affect access to the free calculator.
9. Children’s information
This is a general-audience tool intended for adults and older users interested in dog-age comparisons, not a service directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. The birthday field is for a dog; it is not a request for the visitor’s age.
If you believe a child has sent personal information to our mailbox, contact us so we can review and remove information within our control as required. Children should not send personal details or attachments to us.
10. International access
You may access the site from different countries. Hosting and email providers may process information in locations outside your own country, where privacy laws may differ. We do not promise that information remains in a particular country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a transfer, those requirements continue to apply; contact us for questions about a specific request or service.
11. Policy changes
We will revise this policy when the website or its information practices materially change and update the date at the top. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required by applicable law. A revised policy does not retroactively authorize an unrelated use of information in a way that requires separate permission.
